Capacity Building Training
Since 2021, Amber has served as the anchor technical assistance training consultant for Black Equity Collective’s (BEC) BUILD program, a culturally-affirming capacity building program.
Participants in the program learn how to run effective nonprofit businesses, including strengthening their infrastructures, developing an accurate budget, measurable goals and objectives, financials, diverse funding streams, paid workforce, board engagement, and compliance.
Graduates of the program 3x their revenue, increase confidence and streamline operations within a year.
With a blueprint, nonprofit leaders move from self-funding to obtaining outside funding faster.
A culturally-affirming approach shifts nonprofit leaders' confidence in running an effective nonprofit.
With the step-by-step roadmap, leaders transform their organizations exponentially faster.
Engaging Board of Directors is easier when the nonprofit leader has an understanding of their role.

Confidence
I took Amber’s nonprofit management workshops and learned so much about budgets, board members, grant writing, and marketing. Now, I’m so confident about what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. Amber is amazing!

Grants
I got got by 2 grant writers, not understanding what they were supposed to do and what I was supposed to give them (that they never asked me for). Developing all the stuff I needed (like a funder-ready budget, an infrastructure, measurable goals) showed me why I wasn’t winning grants. As soon as I created them, I got my first grants (government grants at that).

Increased Funding
I’d been funding my organization for over 9 years. I was trying to serve everybody, scared I’d miss out on funding opportunities. Working with Amber I refined my target audience and immediately received 3 grants!

Mentorship
Training is one thing, mentorship is another. Amber provided a high level of mentorship that hugged me like a warm blanket and supported me in a way that I’ve never experienced. I’ve strengthened our organization’s infrastructure and am powerfully and strategically preparing for our future. So grateful.

Funder’s Perspective
Understanding the Funder’s Perspective changes everything. Knowing what a funder is looking for is a game changer. Seriously, it’s like having the key to a safe with all the secrets! Knowledge is power!

Easy to Understand
For years I’d been hearing words and phrases that I didn’t understand. The way Amber explained them made so much sense. I feel like I know what I’m doing now. I feel like I can do this. I can run my nonprofit with confidence knowing I can talk to a funder and not feel like an imposter. Amber always keeps it real. Her authenticity comes through in every word.
