Altruism /æltruːɪzəm/ is a concern for the welfare of others. Altruism is the opposite of selfishness. Sacrificing time, energy, or possessions for someone other than the self with no expectation of any compensation or benefits, either direct, or indirect.
What sets the Legacy Leaders program apart from any typical Family Foundation board training, is that it is specifically designed for next generation Board Members. With that in mind, course topics are presented in age-appropriate and relevant ways. Participants are provided relatable opportunities to learn, grow, and understand the gift and responsibility that they are being bestowed.
More importantly, participants are provided with fun and engaging opportunities to understand the value of altruism, its place in the world, and their lives. Youth and young adults walk away with a deep sense of pride, responsibility, accountability, and willingness to actively take on a servant leader role.
